Mission 12: Night of the Living BONK

The day had been eventful. There had been several grave battles against the Bloo Team, over the possession of an old boot that Pyro had fished out of the river, only to have it stolen by the Bloo Scout. By the end of the day, though, neither side knew where the boot went and both badly needed mending. Dr. Katzenstrand was busy at work stitching cuts shut and extracting bullets from his team. Afterward, some glow-in-the-dark band-aids were distributed to improve morale. But Corky was nowhere to be seen when it was his turn to get a band-aid. The Doktor looked around and asked “Vhere iz dat Spy now?”
“Maybe he died like the BONK he is!” Greg grumbled, “He tried to stab ME and I'm suppose to be on his side!”
“MAGGOT!” Derek yelled in his face, “YOU NEVER TRUST A SPY, NO MATTER THE COLOR! HAVE YOU LEARNED NOTHING? I'LL BEAT YOU WITH THE RULE BOOK IF I HAVE TO!”
“Hey, the office rules are no beating!!” Greg recoiled, scooting away and backing into Hevy. He screamed and leaped away from him. “S-sorry there, big guy, didn't mean to run into you.”
Hevy stared down at his hands. He had just gotten the wrapper off of his band-aid and was finding a place to put it, but now it was mysteriously gone. He looked up at the scout, then suddenly picked him up by the head. “SCOUT TAKE BAND-AID!”
“I did not!!!”
“Mmfmmf!” Pyro pointed at the teen's back, where the band-aid in question was stuck to his shirt.
“YOU PAY, THEIF!”
The Doktor could only roll his eyes as loud screaming and punching overtook the room. The rest of the team cheered and egged the Hevy on, but the Doktor was still concerned about Corky. “Usually dat Spy can't get enough of me! Vhere did he go?”

Not far away from the battle-site, a swamp sat stagnant. Frogs croaked loudly and bugs buzzed about, with the occasional bird hanging precariously onto strands of tall grass twittering. The sun was beginning to set, and normally nobody would even come close to the area... but the Bloo Spy approached, rubbing his hands together nefariously. “Hmhmhm! Now then, this will be easy! All I must do is call forth the horde and my revenge will be exacted!”
Corky was not far behind, disguised as a blade of grass. “I knew he was up to no good. But what exactly IS he trying to do?”
The Bloo Spy reached into a bag, and pulled out something shocking – a box of instant pancake mix! Corky gasped with the realization of what was about to happen, but couldn't move or he'd be discovered. The Bloo Spy smirked horribly before giving the box a vigorous shake. The sound of the powdery contents – 'foomph foomph' seemed quiet, but then the swamp began to bubble and groan. From the muck, dark shapes rose, making a terrifying noise as they began to stagger out onto dry ground, the mud falling from their bodies. Corky stared in shocked horror, before being able to escape in the ensuing noise. Meanwhile, Bloo Spy began to cackle, “Rise, you horrible freaks! There are pancakes to be had at the Red base! Muahaha!”
Corky ran as fast as his feet could take him, right into the base, forgetting to take his disguise off as he began shouting cries of 'Emergency!', suddenly bursting into the Doktor's office. Panting, he yelped, “There is grave danger coming this way! We have to get out of here!”
“Is 'at a walkin', talkin' strain ay girse? “ Big C hiccupped, looking then at his bottle of booze, “Waw, thes new brain ay whiskey is hardcair. “
“Fool!” Corky tore off his grass-mask, “It is I! And it is of the utmost urgency that we escape!”
“What, pray tell, is so horrible that you've got your daks in a knot? “ Brent murmured, “Being chased by the wild turnip monsters again?”
“We agreed to never speak of that experience again. No, it's incredibly serious! The Horde from the swampland has been awakened!”
“The what?” Everyone else scratched their faces in thought. Corky groaned in exasperation, and suddenly dragged Brent off and up into his nest. The spy then pointed at the hillside. Brent grumbled a moment, before taking out a pair of binoculars and peering at the hill.
“...Oh hell, cobber. you weren't kidding!” Brent shouted down, “Hey, boys, we've got to get out of dodge now!”
“What could possibly be this dangerous?” Greg scoffed, having somehow revived. “Oooh, it's the zombies coming to eat our brains! Very scary... hah!”
“It's worse. Your rellies are coming for a visit.“ Through the binoculars, Brent could see the army of Scouts start down the hillside like a rolling wave. “I'd say we have thirty seconds to get to high ground.”
Everyone stared at each other for a moment, before breaking out into screams and piling up into Brent's nest. The sniper closed the trap door, trying to make elbow room for himself among all the people. “Back up, move over! I need more room to be able to do my yakka!”
“We're aw gonnae die! Thes is th' end! Och woe is me, Ah was hopin' tae gang it in a bar brawl!”
“Enough of that doomsday talk!” Redd climbed onto the tin roof of the sniper nest and began to build a weapon out of various things found in his pockets, which honestly was quite a large amount of material, “This ain't nothing like the great Weasel Wars of '69! Those were bloody days, but now we're prepared!”
The wave of Scouts reached the base, smashing up against the walls, all clawing to get in and shouting 'Bonk! Boink! Pancaaaaakes!' as they began to beat everything they could with their bats. Greg stared down in utter disbelief. “What the hell is this crap?!? Who turned on the cloning machine?!? But... pancakes... delicious... pancakes...”
“NO!” Hevy punted Greg out of the nest, who went flying with a scream and disappeared into the mass of Scouts. In the meantime, Brent went about shooting those that got close to the doors as best and fast as he could, while Redd's new sentry sprayed down a heavy wave of bullets. Hevy wailed, “What do we doooo?!? Where is silly Voice?? Haaalp!”

“...And so you see, it's been quite the learning experience.” GlaDOS wavered gleefully back and forth, suspended from the ceiling, “My current test subject simply does not quit and is easily encouraged by the promise of cake.”
“Hohoho, you were always brilliant.” That Voice hovered around a table set up with tea. “You know, I'm glad you invited me for your Anniversary of Activation Day... I really needed to get away from those buffoons.”
“You sounded agitated on the telephone. It was only natural to invite you to the Aperture Science Enrichment Center for some fun and learning on the Anniversary of Activation Day. I did, however, invite another person to the party.”
“Oh? Whoever could you have invited?”
“Cousin Overwatch, however, her current occupation keeps her very busy and she may not be able to attend. That is alright, although it breaks my heart. In the meantime, would you like to torment my test subject?”
“Oh WOULD I ever!” The Voice drifted away, locating a sleeping, exhausted Chell. “Ahem. RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWRHFHGHGFF!”
“AIYEEEEEEEEEEEEE!”
“Wow, she jumps high.”

By now, the Scout Horde had broken down the doors and several windows, flooding into the base and tearing things apart, looking for the promised pancakes. But no matter where they went, or what they tore through, they couldn't find any! They began to grow angry, and could be heard Boinking just below the trap door. Hevy screeched and clung to his Doktor, but the Pyro slipped the end of his flamethrower under the lip of the door and let them have it. The flame roared through, with a lot of screaming heard, but he unfortunately ran out of fuel quickly. “Mmmfmf!”
“I don't know how much longer we can hold out!” Redd had built a staggering tower of Sentries, but it seemed the Horde refused to thin out. “I'm running out of paperclips and they're the most essential part of these here Sentries!”
Brent glanced at Corky briefly, “Well you knew about the danger – Know how to off these guys?”
“I honestly am at a loss.” But he paused a moment, looking back at Hevy, thinking hard. “Hmm... actually, all WE need is a counter-army of Heavies.”
“Me? Oh boy oh boy!” Hevy seemed delighted, “But Hevy is only one Hevy!”
“Ja!” Doktor said, “But ve have zomething that vill zuper-power you!”
“What? Oh, Hevy is so excited!”
Redd passed down his lunch box, packed ever so lovingly by his wife, handing it to the Doktor. In turn, the man undid the latch and held it open at the Hevy. The most holy of lunches was found within, angels almost visible dancing around its meaty glory- A triple stacked, made-with-love SANDVICH. Hevy took it gingerly, before snarfing it violently. He felt filled with the power of the Gods themselves and let out a loud battle cry, before leaping from the nest down into the middle of the horde. His fists began to fly everywhere as he pounded Scout faces in left and right, laughing loudly. The Doktor in the meantime supported him from above with a nice, steady dose of healf. “Very gut! Just keep fighting!”
“BONK!” The Scouts all tried to trip up the Sandvich-fed Hevy but were beaten apart one by one. Eventually the Horde seemed to realize the tides had changed, and they began to flee. Hevy tore off after them.
“STOP RUNNING, COWARDS!”
“Vait a minute! You'll die out there all alone!!” Doktor gasped as he went out of range and continued off behind a building and out of sight. “Oh no! Hevy's... gone!”
“Weel as lang as he takes those freaks wi' heem... god bless, we'll aye min' his heroic end!”
“Hmm... we need to regather supplies, I know that they'll come back.” Corky nodded to the group, “While you still have time, go get as much ammo as you can!”
“I'll hurry back home and get the wifey to make more lunches!” Redd left his sentries and ran downstairs as fast he could to his truck out back, taking off.

“Well that is kind of a bother, isn't it?” Betty pondered over the situation, after Redd had explained the situation. She paced around the kitchen a bit in thought, humming as she did. “Oh, honey, don't we have that huge batch of sugar beets in storage?”
“Several tons, and we can't sell it!” Redd groaned, “Dang things are radioactive. That's what I get for storing the fertilizer in my workshed. I mean the silo still glows at night!”
“Then we've got no problem!” Betty clapped her hands together, “We need to bring the entire lot back to your base!”
“Eh? What's on your mind, buttercup?”
She winked, “I'll explain on the road. Can we use the teleporter?”
“Hell yeah!” They both went outside, as Redd unlocked his workshop's door. Inside were hundreds of machines with farming supplies tucked into the corners... though he had an overwhelming feeling that someone was there. “Hey, private property! Who's in here?”
“Gross error. Foreign body. Wrong patient.” Overwatch spoke flatly.
“Oh not another one of you fools! Here, the stairs down is in that corner over there! Hurry on down and don't touch anything!”
“Corrected.” She slipped down the cellar stairs.
“Dang-nabbin' disembodied...”
“Oh hun, we knew when we bought the property that it was build over that silly scientific facility!” Betty cheerfully patted his back before helping him haul out the teleporter. “Let's just focus on getting those beets back to the base in order to make some...”

“Molasses?” The Doktor pondered when they had returned, wondering why there was now a mountain of sugar beets overtaking the Red base. “You intend to pour molasses on zee Scout infestation?”
“That's right!” Betty smiled helpfully, “Then they'll be stuck!”
“Juicer going up!” Redd smacked a new machine with the back of his wrench repeatedly until it fired up, connected to the on-base silo. Derek then pulled out his trench shovel and began to shovel beets into the machine as fast as he could. “Just don't put anything ELSE in there!”
“As if I would!” Derek kept shoveling, “To accuse ME of being careless enough...!”
“Och mommy, th' scoots cam an' Ah kent Ah was gonnae die an' noo haur Ah am deid! “ Big C wailed loudly, slumped over in one corner of the sniper nest and out of booze, “Aam in heel, coz aw these jerks ur haur an' there's naethin' mair tae bevvy!”
“I'm rapidly being reminded why I never let anyone up here. God, he smells as not-so-bonza as he is loud.” Brent groaned, being poked repeatedly by Pyro. “What? What is it? What do you want?”
“Mmfmfm!” He giggled and kept poking, before pointing at his finger in delight.
“Yes, it's your finger. Big hairy deal. Keep touching me 'n' i'll gut you 'n' wear your skin as a coat.”
“...” He sadly backed away with a sigh.
“I am ztill zo vorried over the Hevy!” Doktor sighed deeply, trying to catch sight of the man. “Plus we've lost our Spy yet again and ve're rapidly losing our zanity!”
“Now now, I'm sure it will be just fine.” Betty patted his shoulder, wearing a pair of heavy duty lab goggles, holding a control box wired to an assembly at the base of the silo. “Just a little more time, and everything will be peachy!”
“Vait... I zee zomething!”
“NEED MORE SANDVICH!” Hevy came running from behind the buildings with Greg hanging onto his shoulder, beating off other scouts that came too close. The team cheered and dropped down a chain, which Hevy grabbed readily. The rest of the team had to pull to get him up into the nest, as the rest of the Scout Horde came running. “DOKTOR, IT WAS TERRIBLE!”
“There there! You are alright now!”
Greg shook like a scared poodle, still hanging onto Hevy, “F-f-f-freakin'... B-b-bonk... Pancakes... THEY'RE MONSTERS!”
“Alright, buttercup! Hit the switch!”
“You got it!” Betty hit the big red button on the remote control, and there was a loud 'kaboom!' sound from the base's silo. At first nothing seemed to happen... before thin trails of a sticky, brown substance began to pour out the top. Soon it began to become thick and rolling, before the lid of the silo was torn off and the wave of hot, sticky molasses suddenly poured down onto the horde. Much screaming occurred as the sweet blob began to engulf the masses, which were torn between running back to the swamp and wanting to eat the sugary concoction. It began to roll around between the buildings as well, reaching all the way to the door of the Bloo base before it settled. The Red team cheered in joy, they had ended the invasion and were saved!
“Brilliance, this woman deserves a medal for her cooking skills!” Derek saluted to her, and was pleased when she saluted back. “At ease, solider! You should be proud!”
“So much molasses!” Hevy peered down in wonder. “What do with all sticky Scouts?”
“Actually... a good question....” Brent scratched the side of his face.
“No, I've got an idea for that too!” Betty smiled, holding up a confectionery box...

DING DONG~
“Someone is at the door. This is a first.” GlaDOS commented in the middle of trying to kill Chell. “Would you kindly stop being unruly and answer the door?”
“Oh naturally.” Chell dropped everything and ran through the back-room system to the front door, prying it open. “Hello? Oh, hey, candy! GlaDOS, it's a cute little Pyro selling candy!”
“Mmmf!” Pyrette, Pyro's daughter, cheerfully held up one of the boxes.
“I have little interest in candy, as it is not moist and delicious. However if you cared to purchase some, I see little reason to stop you, especially when I can steal it later and taunt you with it.”
“Okay, I'll bite.” Chell dug in her pockets to no avail, before sneezing out a plastic-wrapped wad of money and pulling out a few bills. “Here, how many boxes do I get for this?”
“Mmmfmf.” Pyrette handed over four boxes and took the money, before shaking Chell's hand. “Mmm-mmm!”
“Bye bye, thanks for the candy! Wow.” Chell closed the door, which self-locked, but she was too busy opening a box to notice. “OH SWEET, SCOUT BRITTLE. THIS IS MY FAVORITE!”
The Red team wound up making quite a bit of money.

The Big Questionnaire

So this really isn't a chapter, and thus I can't really upload it on Fanfiction.Net 'legally', but MEHHHHH. I've got a little bit of trivia about the story, and an answer to a very commonly complained about and asked repeatedly question. Also some other crap someone might be interested in but SOMEHOW I DOUBT SO.

ORIGINS OF NAMES AND PEOPLE:
I usually name all my characters with a purpose, and each character is born with some borrowing of personality from another idea or someone in my life. So a little brief introduction of how my characters were born is as follows:

Redd McGree – Redd is the Engineer, and named for the actual team itself. (RED, duh.) Redd is pretty much a direct import of the in-game Engineer and is handy as a source of actual logic since he doesn't seem to be insane. Such a character needs to exist to offset the extreme eccentric-ity of everyone else, plus it throws a wrench (pun probably intended) into the works since the sanity is unexpected.
It's important to note he is one of only two characters in Pericolo! Morte! To actually live off-base and have a wife. The chapter 'Old McGregor Had a Farm...' is set at his residence, which is a large farm. After they ravaged the place he refuses to bring them again.
Betty is the name of his wife, who packs his lunches and sends in treats for the rest of the team. It's not yet been covered but Betty is ironically realistic in appearance, and there's a story behind that: She got on the wrong train in the Half-Life universe and wound up meeting him, and fell in love immediately. Whether or not I'll get around to writing about her is another story entirely.

Corky Riviera – The spy that often spends time hiding out at the Bloo team's base and seems to have a high attraction to their doctor, and also Derek the Soldier. Corky is quite special as he's named after, and based upon me, probably recalling the darker side of my sense of humor. He is quite proud of himself, yet whenever things look unpleasant he does what everyone in the world wishes they could do: he just disappears.
I get a lot of questions about Corky's implied 'gayness'. The simple answer to all of this is: If he's based on me, and I'm a female, then logically... it's compounded by the fact the Soldier is named for my boyfriend. So there's the scandalous truth. He's also one of the more 'sane' characters and acts well as a hidden savior when people are in danger.

Hevy Heavy – The Hevy is basically a big kid. He's one of my favorite people to write for, as his boundless energy and slight stupidity gives huge room for fun. Naturally, he loves his Doktor, but for people who wonder it's entirely innocent. Thus there's not going to be any romancey scenes, mostly because I think of Hevy as a child, and that freaks me out. He goes along splendidly with the Pyro, but seems to have a high regard for everyone on the team. The chapter 'Doktor's Out' shows how lost Hevy is without his Doktor, and introduced his mother, who is tiny in order to create irony. He's the only one in the series so far to have a parent.
I usually have him beat up on Greg once per episode, and every time he does it I still laugh. Apparently he can't stand Greg, and seems to be the only person he truly can't get along with. He winds up the center of attention a lot, and every time he does he still makes me chuckle.

Derek Turmoil – Our 'strict' soldier that has an affinity for kittens. Derek is named for my boyfriend who often plays as a Soldier, so it was natural. He's the subject of the first chapter, and pretty much the person I dedicate most of my stories to. As a character, he's pretty stern with everyone but is mostly trying to be supportive. Hevy and Pyro seem to have high respect for him.
I enjoy the fact that he seems logical now and then but is really off-kilter. He's also the main affection of Corky ('Mon petit concombre~') though they obviously try to keep it secret. Thus he's always defensive of Corky, which I don't think has been seen more than once or twice. He's good as a support character, and his broken logic always surprises even ME.

Greg Johnson – Greg is named for my cousin, BUT ONLY BECAUSE THE SCOUT ODDLY REMINDS ME OF HIM IN APPEARANCE. (I mean no ill towards ya, 'Cuz.) He's got a pretty surly personality and occasionally seems to agree with what's going on, but he was designed for the very single purpose to be beaten up and have it somewhat justified by his behavior. I kill him at least once in every chapter, yet he shows up again due to fast respawn.
He's also the youngest of the crew on the base and mistreated by EVERYONE, but he doesn't seem to give respect back to anyone to begin with. But it is important to note there's an oddness about ALL of the Scouts in my story. I plan on revealing it soon, but for now...!

“Big C” AKA Fluffy Carhill – How I love this loser. He's always drunk and complaining, and has such a thick accent it's hard to understand anything he says. His accent is a great deal of pride to me, but I'll admit it's from a super wonderful resource. (http://www.whoohoo.co.uk/scottish-translator.asp) The translator at Woohoo is my hero, and it adds a lot of fun diversity to my story. He was the subject of the chapter “Varentine's Day” where he lucklessly looked for love in all the wrong places.
I like his side comments and just having him talk in general, though I'm hesitant to use him too much in case my audience simply can't understand what he's saying... I need more feedback about that, honestly. Until then he's kind of a side character I don't plan on developing much further.

Pyro – The Pyro IS MY FAVORITE. This plucky little guy is my hero, and has a childish personality that makes him just endearing. Yet he's incredibly brave, willing to be a hero when there's a need for it. He has a fascination with destruction and pretty things. He's also the only character to have a full family: A wife and two kids. The idea that while he's the picture of odd, childhood innocence, and yet a married man, still strikes me as hysterical. Apparently he's also a fan favorite.
Now of course, he simply bears the name of the class, and that's got a very good reason behind it: Any time you touch the subject of the Pyro anymore, the stupid 'Male or Female' argument flares up. I really, really, REALLY hate arguing the point when it doesn't even matter. In response to this dumbassery, I gave him a wife and daughter that are also of the Pyro class to show they could be either gender and to avoid this pissy argument that I really, really despise. So never ask me about my opinion on the gender debate. My primary response is: Who the hell has time to worry? Why would you even WORRY about what gender a Pyro is?
Also in response to this, the Pyro is obviously fond of girly things, but gets upset if it's forced at him. You'll note that he once was delighted to find a pretty doll house in the chapter 'The Nutsofreaks Suite' yet seemed offended at being given a gift of girly crap in 'Pyroday' as it was intended to be mocking. This is to show he has a genuine childlike interest in things, and that the silly 'evidence' in game (purse in a locker) could simply be that innocent fascination. He's my absolute favorite, my hero, and my pride and joy.

Dr. Katzenstrand – The Doktor. His name translates into 'cat sand', so basically he's cat litter. He's usually another voice of reason but loses it now and then, and then threatens to give 'healf shots'. (Yes, I know how health is spelled, it's a joke.) He's usually being hauled around by Hevy, and obviously is handled maybe slightly roughly ('Oof' is a common sound from him) yet patiently acts as sort of a guardian. Apparently then he's not around, things fall out of order, and if he had his way, things would be set up neatly.
I rather like him as a support for the other characters, dispensing advice and mending. He's also pursued somewhat by Corky, much to his annoyance. He creates humor when he 'loses it' due to various reasons, and something about him playing at a bonesaw orchestra tickles me. Oddly though I don't have much to say otherwise about him.

Brent Foray – This guy was hard as hell to find a name for. I remember asking my boyfriend about it and he spat out the first name Brent, and the last name came by after. He's, with Redd, the only completely 'sane' character and obviously likes to spend time by himself. Because of the nature of the Sniper class, being stuck to one place often for a great deal of time, I kind of like the idea of him being lazy. Pretty much I can compare him to a big cat – which is what his personality is based off from.
I also love the fact that his misfires always hit something or someone on the opposite team. The idea of perfection in every shot, even when done in mistake, totally breaks the laws of everything and makes me snicker. He's also good to dispense advice, but is cranky if pestered. He had a glorious backstory, but I can no longer remember it. I wonder if I ought dedicate a chapter to him.

The/That Voice – This is my version of the Announcer. She's an invisible entity that can apparently affect objects to a mild extent, as she drinks tea, but can't open doors. (She can probably slip in the cracks however, and get into anything.) She attaches to various objects, and can be affected by external stimuli. In general, she's usually cranky and seems to resent that she's stuck guiding around a bunch of losers.
Now it's important to note that she was created long before the Announcer was given a 'face' and is no way related to this new image. I never plan on giving The Voice an appearance because she's like a supernatural entity. This makes it easier to bring her into a scene out of nowhere, and makes her appearances entirely random. I like the ability to create surprise among the other characters and startle them.
Also there's a sort of joke seen in my story: she's related to GlaDOS somehow and call each other cousins. This is merely a joke at the fact the voice actor for the Announcer and GlaDOS are the same. I imagine another member of their family is Overwatch from Half Life 2. I have no idea how something invisible and a computer can be related, though, so if you have any ideas how the hell this works I want to hear about it.

Some Trivia and FAQs:
So, because some people won't read anything above, I'll initially answer some FAQs I receive.

1.- So is the Pyro a Male or Female?!?? I'll argue with you for an hour about it!
I really, really, REALLY hate this pointless argument. Valve doesn't make it any easier either by playing on the whole fact, as they call the Pyro He and She alternatively in their blogs and what-have-you. Thus, in my opinion: The Pyro is a CLASS and can be male OR female. This prompted me to give Pyro in my story a full family, which includes a wife and daughter. My main Pyro is male, and should never be thought of otherwise, even if he's fond of pretty things. So now if anyone asks me this question again I'll just refer you here, because I am done arguing over the pointless subject.

2.- What's with all the gay?
I get this asked a lot, but nobody actually applies it to any example. So I have to guess: Are you asking about Corky? The answer to that is: He's actually female, since he's me. It makes a funny looking joke on the outside if you don't know that, though.
Another thing I guess could be called 'gay' is Hevy and Doktor's relationship. Let me state that it's completely innocent, and not romance at all. Actually, the idea of Hevy and Doktor in specific being romantic sort of bothers me, since Hevy is pretty much a giant little kid.
Finally, there ARE some overtones on purpose that are intended to seem 'gay'. This is because the story was born in the depths of TF2chan, a primarily gay community for TF2 fans. So in a nod to it's roots, the little jokes and things put in. It's also harder, because 99% of the characters in this story are male, to show that anybody is really heterosexual. There's not many females to flirt at.

3.- Where do you get your ideas?
I usually got inspiration for the initial chapters from jokes that were popular in the TF2 community and from TF2chan. Otherwise storylines are made completely on the spot. I write each chapter blind- there is no pre-planning of the events at all, and I write until a natural conclusion is evident. Occasionally it makes it hard to decide when to actually stop a chapter. But because of this experimental way of writing (for me anyway) it makes the stories unintentionally more hilarious from the sheer random nature of things. You'll notice that in descriptions of things, totally inappropriate elements appear (such as antelopes in the storage shed) which are simply my mind going 'well, what doesn't fit here?'. But I would love to hear some ideas from the community about what they'd like to see me write about, and who.

4.- What does Pericolo! Morte! Mean?
Loosely, 'Danger! Death!', in Italian. It was picked to sound dramatic. Originally the story had no planned title, so like the nature of the writing, this was picked blindly for the humorous effect. I honestly have little attachment to the title, but at least it makes it distinct rather than calling it something like 'Idiotic Red Team'.

5.- What about you as an author? Who ARE you? Do you play TF2?
I remember playing Team Fortress 2 exactly twelve times. I played either as a Pyro or a Spy, long before the hats were released. I haven't honestly played since, but I do like to spectate. I am sort of afraid of playing, since I'm not the best at first-person shooters (though I adore the rest of the Valve series and regularly play titles like Portal and Half-Life.) and TF2 subjects you to the online community. I guess I'm afraid of embarrassing myself. I personally regard myself as a writer. I've done mostly fanfiction, in various formats: I write serious as well as the insane. I can't say I enjoy writing serious or silly any better than the other, it depends on my mood. I have a seriously hard time finishing anything, though, because of lack of motivation and inspirations. My name is Corky, so the Spy in my story is named for me.

Half Life 2 for Sims - Junkyard Decor

Been awhile. Here is a small decor set of three (and a half) items from the junkyard at Eli's lab. First we have the Beware of Dog sign, then the deactivated Rollermine used as a ball, and the old junky HEV plate. One version of the plate is a sculpture and lies flat on a surface, and the other hangs up on a wall.

This set requires Pets, the Dog sign is cloned from a sign from there. The Rollermine and Hev Plate sculpture are cloned from the Bowl of Fruit. The wall HEV plate is cloned from a basegame poster.

Half Life 2 for Sims - Vance Family Photo

"You remember my wife Azian, don't you? That photo, and Alyx, were the only things I managed to carry out of Black Mesa."

My very, very first new-mesh object. This is an import from Half-Life 2, the photograph of Eli, Azian, and little Alyx seen in Black Mesa East (AKA Eli's lab). It is cloned from the Frutibowl sculpture and so is designed to sit on a table or desk. The back of the object isn't rendered well, but it is the same way in-game since you have no way of seeing it from that angle (without cheating!).

You may recolor this, and if you want, edit the mesh freely. I'd just like some credit for importing it, since it was hard work for me. Enjoy it! Expect more odds and ends, now, in themed sets, to show up from the Valve games. ;D

Hello! Here is my latest project, the survivors of Left4Dead! Let's take a look at who we have.

William 'Bill' Overbeck: "It took two eventful tours in Vietnam, a handful of medals, a knee full of shrapnel, and an honorable discharge before the unthinkable happened: Bill ran out of wars. But now an army of infected has declared war on humanity. After decades of aimless drifting and dead-end jobs, Bill's finally gotten back the only thing he ever wanted: an enemy to fight."

Bill comes with his outfit and his beret. He requires University to use. He is an Elder, but still going strong.

Why, if it isn't this delightful old chap! Odessa Cubbage, from Half-Life 2, is seen briefly at the lighthouse and gives out lovely rocket launchers so you can take down some nasty ol' Gunships. He's seen in his Security jacket, and sticks by the radio when you go do the hard work. (Later some citizens comment he's an idiot. Hmm!)

His outfit requires Freetime, and comes with a bonus BLUE HAT, just like he wears in-game. (A recolor of the game-default hat mesh.) Bring him home and watch him pretend to be a Colonel! If you want the Sim pictured, drop by the page on the Exchange.

Half Life 2 for Sims - Combine Assassin Outfit

"The Combine Assassin, also known as Female Assassin or simply Assassin, is a transhuman enemy cut from Half-Life 2, the successor of Half-Life’s female assassin and a predecessor of the Overwatch Elite, who inherited her helmet."

It's not a secret among people who know me that I love love love the Combine Assassin in HL2's Beta. Though most people call her over-rated, I love her movements. Too bad she's a bitch when you're actually fighting her. Yeesh! Tough love.

Anyway, this is her outfit (I cannot make a helmet. No meshing abilities. WAH.) just without her heel-springs. Fun trivia: Chell originally had no heel springs. They were first to be seen on the Female Assassins, but when player testers for Portal complained it seemed unrealistic for Chell to survive long falls, they rescued the concept.

This is a base-game mesh, and so will work well for anything.

Hello. This is Alyx's outfit from Half-Life 2. Her outfit was fun to make, especially with her Black Mesa shirt underneath the coat. Unfortunately she requires H&M Fashion Stuff, and I suppose you could get the mesh from the Sims Store. But if anyone wants to, since I'm unable, make a mesh and I'll toss over the texture.

Half Life 2 for Sims - Child Worker Uniform

"The Citizens were originally to include children, to be seen working in the Cremator Factory in the Combine Factories area and as corpses in Ravenholm. Indeed, children are not present in Half-Life 2 and its episodes, which was canonically explained with the Suppression Field."

This is an outfit based on the cut Child Worker model from the Half Life 2 Beta. They wear the green, drab uniform that many other citizens in the beta wear. This uniform is unisex and requires Freetime.

This image compares my uniform with the HL2 Beta Female Child Worker model. While the meshes are very different, I like to think mine looks closer to what a 'finished' version would have looked like. Why would the Combine worry about making clothes in child size? Roll up the sleeves and get to work. Also the same idea about the shoes; adult shoes would cause tripping. So send them to work barefoot.

The backstabbing triple agent herself, Mossman, wears this outfit (unless freezing her buns off at the unknown Arctic Base.) It's a sweater and pants combo, with a nice gold bracelet that reads 'PROGRESS'. Don't you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? I rather hate her, but now I can torture her ceaselessly for her sins.

She unfortunately seems to require H&M Fashion Stuff, but the mesh was SO PERFECT. I think you could buy it from the Sims Store if you were really desperate.

Just remember, though you can use the Aperture Science Approved Orange Regulation Testing Jumpsuit for swimming, you cannot swim in toxic waste pits that may or may not be found within the Aperture Science Enrichment Center.

Hello there! Here are two recolors of the awesome Headcrab Accessory by The_French_Sim. I used the Beta version of the headcrab for one skin, and a 'cleaned texture' for the other. So no you can have ultra bloody headcrabs or squeaky clean ones.

Portal for Sims 2 - Walls, Floors, Ground Cover

As it is one of my favorite games, and part of the Half-Life 2 Series, here is the finishing set... Walls, floors, and ground cover from Portal! Please be aware, though, that not all of the wall textures are in here. Why? Because they get a shade darker the further 'down' in the game you go, and that meant somewhere like 16 of the same walls just a hair darker than the other. If you REALLY absolutely need these darker shades, you could pull the textures from these walls yourself and make a 10% dark adjustment in any photo editing software.

Also, the 'graffiti walls' are not in here, as they are not actually wall textures but fancy overlays. I plan on releasing these separate AS transparent overlays so you can put them on ANY wall surface, not just the Portal ones!! Those are my next project on my list, so don't be too disappointed at me yet!

But this also includes the 'hazard water' textures, both the color seen from the surface... and the unlucky texture seen from the bottom, in case you happened to fall in.

GLaDOS Core Headgear

HELLO and welcome to the Aperture Science Enrichment Center! I am a big Portal fan, and so these were a natural idea when I first saw a certain head-orb mesh. Now, you can wear everyone's favorite round personalities as a hat! These are under the Glasses tab, naturally.

I have included a new version of GeneralZoi's Head Sphere Mesh. This is because the old version causes the dreaded 'flashing blue accessory' error, and the mesh in the .rar has been tweaked to prevent that from occurring. The textures were made by me, using the original texture files from Portal as a base. They're for both genders, and all ages! Hoorah!

Combine Propaganda Posters

When the Combine took over City 17, they took a common-on-earth approach to getting their 'message of peace' to the civilians: Propaganda posters! These are recolors of the game basic posters "We Call it Football" and "Surfing the Universe." (I'm not sure if these are basegame, but I -think- so. Let me know if not.) These are mostly just a test for me, trying to learn how SimPE works. But I figured since it goes with my other sets, I might as well release them!

These will be of GREAT interest to trivia buffs, as most of these are from the Beta of Half Life 2 and can no longer be found in the game files. The preview picture shows some of the most evident, including the original Counsul (Who was replaced by Breen), the Cremator NPC, and a City 17 poster. Take a look through these, since the older textures capture the much darker storyline that was scrapped almost entirely.

Half Life 2 for Sims - The Nature Set

Here is the Half Life 2 Nature textures set! This set is a little special, as it includes ground covers, walls, and floors for you to use. This is good for making a very barren and drab landscape around your worn down homes.

This includes many, many rocky terrains and walls, mud, murky water, and even snow and ice walls. Some of these textures, especially dealing with the snow, are not as highly detailed since they are only glimpsed briefly in Ep2. If they update with the last Episode, I'll be sure to fix those up.

Half Life 2 for Sims - 'Missing Textures' Set

Hello! This is another one of my sets in my ongoing Half Life 2 project! This one requires a little more explanation than the other sets, for these are textures that went unused in the Half Life 2 files. That means that OCCASIONALLY some of these aren't as high quality, but I thought it was important anyway to preserve these since someone did work hard on them.

Let me then introduce the three wall sets.

Borealis Hull Walls

"The Borealis, originally known as the Hyperborea, is a location and chapter cut from Half-Life 2. It was to be set between two other cut locations, the Air Exchange and Kraken Base, and to be the last location of the third day, visited during the night. "

While the Borealis has re-emerged as a canon location in the future Episode 3, these textures belong to the original design. They are all named 'hull', and are metal textures.

Unused Textures

Just a small set of some textures that once belonged to the 'e3_industrial' and other related maps (the 'Combine Factories') cut from the finished game. These are merely included for curiosity reasons, and have some mixed materials. This also has some very early Citadel textures that were modified or refined before being introduced in the finished game. Read more about the Factories here.

Valve Building Template Walls

These are some early 'Building Template' textures, which are mostly recolored sidings of different type. This set includes a bit of brick, and a bit of painted siding. There's no special story attached to these, but it's a shame to let them go to waste. (Some may have been reused in future locations, but they are all grouped in a Building Template category.)

The title has nothing to do with this entry, I just saw it on the page before the Publish option and for some reason it tickled me just right.

I'M STARTING TO FEEL BETTER. I better not have jinxed myself right then. But here I am, in class (actually in my two hour break between my middle and last class) and not feeling like certain death. Three cheers for that! My mood is still pretty ick, but that's partially due to the perpetual gray weather outside. When the sun was temporarily out the other day I sat in the glass window area of the apartment building and felt a little better.

Well, other than that I've spewed forth a handful of new entries in Lily's Diary, my strange, strange experimental L4D fanfiction. One reviewer commented she had to be good at SOMETHING and I agreed. Anyway, each entry is short and slightly amusing... I hope.

Also, change of plans... seems I'll be going to my Boyfriend's for Xmas instead of the other way around, due to monetary issues. That's okay, either way I'm with the love of my life for a week. <3

I'm getting kind of desperate. Emotionally and physically my health is bottoming out. I had the stomach flu this weekend and then had to go in again since I have open sores now in places I never ought to have any... Got tested for Herpes and sent home with pills that haven't done so much. Now I'm having urinary issues again... and a side ache, so I don't know if my kidney is affected now or what. Severe pain otherwise... And yet they won't give me any painkillers or let me see the damned urologist. I don't see -why-, but that's how it is.

Whatever they find out I get the feeling it won't be a permanent fix again. I'm very, very, very depressed and don't know what to do with myself at this point... school is a hassle due to all the pain and lethargy I have... If something doesn't go right soon I might have to admit myself to a hospital because I can't take this anymore.

Today is freaking me out, man... It's horribly dark and rainy (but at least warm) though not really bothering me... what is, is the fact nobody was awake this morning but me, and nobody was at the bus stop but me... Then about me and 5 other people were on the 16 which is usually standing room only. I was convinced I woke up at the wrong time of the day for awhile there. What is going on?!?

Anyway, just finished an art class test that my mind went mushy on... Come on, one of my favorite subjects and my headmeat won't cooperate? Yeesh. Oh, but I can't wait for English class! Ahaha I love it! Except I think everyone is at a level far below me, since they didn't know the word 'lute' among many other things. (A lute is a stringed instrument.) Still, how fantastic. Much better than Art History in my book.

And as soon as I was done with my bladder infection, I obtained a yeast infection. Of course. Need to call my mother on a public line since my cellphone has 56 cents on it. Can't even dial out with that amount. Bleh bleh bleh.

I'd also like my money to actually exist in my account so I can buy groceries already. I think the very tail end of my milk has gone sour from my saving it. Eeew... I hate it when that happens. It's gross and yukky.

That's all for now. Today needs to stop being so weird.

I dislike this kind of weather. Where it's gray and wet, maybe not actively raining, just very mushy all over. I don't mind grey days so badly if it's snowing, you know? Or even if it's flat-out solid raining. It's this middle weather that drives me nuts. Even if it is early, I liked the snowfall we had. Hmph.

I'm still suffering the bad frontal headaches. Doctor said one passage was swollen and gave me this spray that is apparently so wonderful it causes worse congestion if you use it beyond 5 days... It did clear my nose, but I've not really had anything run. At least she confirmed it's not an infection, but pressure. Better that than otherwise, eh?

My sister of the little sort is also a headache as usual, but I don't think anyone gets away with calling their own mother a bitch, right? Jeez Louise, kid, grow the hell up. If you're 16, then you can learn to keep your mouth closed, even if you have mild autism. It's Not That Hard. I don't like being called names either, got it? Sheesh.

Meanwhile, I've got my financial crisis to deal with... ick. I hope my loan comes soon or I'll die out of anxiety. I'm still mad my bank told me my money was in my account when it wasn't and never corrected the issue at all. Woo, go TCF! Don't bank with them... there's a reason most Northfield businesses stopped accepting checks from them.

Weeeeelllll anyway, that's that for now. Facebook is unbelievably addictive. I'm still unsure if it was wise to sign up for the service, but since it links to this blog it's sort of nice for me. I like thinking my thoughts are being read.

I was also asked to write more about Pericolo! Morte! by some fans, so... keep an eye out.

College.

Busy. Busy busy busy. Holy Schiess.

Well it's my second quarter of college and life has been interesting. I've gotten along splendidly well with one of my roomies, Melissa, and we have gotten horribly addicted to Half-Life 2. The game series is fantastic and engaging, and we've spent hours going through the scary parts shaking and laughing hysterically at the clever, slipped in jokes. ("Hey, let me in!" "What's the password?" "Password!" "Okay, you can come in.") One of the reoccuring characters is the G-man who is famous for appearing in impossible to reach areas and calmly adjusting his tie. Well, across from our apartment is this old building (which we have jokingly called the 'Drug Cartel' because of how scuzzy it looks, half of the windows are busted!) and occasionally the lights will turn off and on. One evening I looked up and pointed at a figure in the window and jokingly said, "It's the G-man!" Melissa looked over, and the man turned around stiffly and walked away in the same exact way the G-man does in game. Hysterics followed.

I've been enjoying the company and the game immensely. I've been using Synergy, a Half-Life 2 Mod, to play with my boyfriend through the game. It's really fun with someone to help you out and lessens the scary edge of places like Ravenholm. I am also fascinated with the Beta that was leaked, because of the huge amount of content it had in it.

As far as school goes, I'm in general ed. classes for this quarter. I've got a basic drawing class, art history, and CRITICAL THINKING ('I want to learn Critical Thinking so I can do maximum damage with my mind alone.') class. It's not exciting but it's also not very hard. I've got paintings to do, as well, but those have been like pulling nails, because they are so obnoxiously boring. (Sorry, Ms. Loudon.)

I've been getting really nasty frontal headaches that feel like the skin is constricting badly across my skull. It's been almost debilitating, for in the car (facing forward- apparently sitting sideways on the bus is fine) it makes me violently ill and otherwise unable to concentrate. I've got no idea what the heck it is, either, and it's driving me insane. Anyone got any ideas? I'll be heading to the doctor very soon. Though having gotten my glasses repaired has been nice, I love being able to SEE. AHAHAHA

Youtube banned my old account. Look for me as 'snootiepie' there from now on. I'm not going to rant about it because it is incredibly silly. So silly.

Huge Freakin' Update

It's been forever. I've been busy. So horribly, awfully busy.

Okay! So right now I have a BIG NASTY KIDNEY INFECTION while readmitted to the Arts Institute International Minnesota. So life is sort of miserable at the time of this writing. I'm on pills of the horse variety and will get better... I think.

I'm struggling with financial aid and about ready to lop off some heads. I need to do some homework too but being so ill makes it hard to want to sit up and do ANYTHING. Sigh... I promised to be better by tomorrow to make it to a study group but I'm not sure I can do that. Right now I owe my life to my school counselor though... without her, I'd not have gotten to the clinic nor gotten my medicine. A real, honest Angel on earth.

What's News?

Hey guys. Long time, no update.

What's news? Well. My house is being foreclosed on, and the only 'news' I have about it is to expect it within six months. It's the unknown that kills you, huh? I'm going back to college very very soon, and got a letter saying I should get only one roommate. We hope this works!

My mother has turned about four in emotional age. It's become so irritating I can't talk with her. Argh! Especially after my sweetie invited me to come live with him next year, something I've been planning with him for over a year, and she really turned defeatist. It's just not worth the time nor the bad feelings to speak with her right now.

Well internet wise I've been pretty quiet! I've taken to playing video games lately to get out my stress since it's very interactive. That's why writing has stalled for the most part... also I'm just busy as heck. Fun times!

Hello everyone! I'm doing better today. My doctor gave me an increase of my depression medicine and I'm in good shape. Though I best not jinx it. I also got my card and candy for my boyfriend and feel really happy about that! Gonna mail it off on Monday.

Cool, my loan company is charging me for the college loan I never received. Monday will be busy.

Before we even -begin-, I'm warning that I'm going to be ranting. Profusely. So everyone can go ahead and ignore the following text.

Hurray, hurray, it's going to be Valentine's day! A 3.50 card and a 5.00 box of chocolate is too fucking damn an expense to ask kindly for, for my boyfriend. In 99% of cases I completely understand earning for things, of course. But . . . this is for my fucking boyfriend on fucking Valentine's day after he fucking paid for ALL of my vacation to his place, and his to mine. I THINK 10 BUCKS FOR A FUCKING VALENTINE IS NOT THAT HARD TO DO, BUT WHAT THE HELL DO I KNOW? I GUESS, THOUGH, SINCE OUR HOUSE IS BEING FORECLOSED ON WE CAN'T SPARE ANYTHING. JUST IGNORE THE 72 CASES OF DIET COKE THAT MYSTERIOUSLY RENEW THEMSELVES EVERY OTHER FUCKING DAY.

Also, the car is no longer mine. Because we can't afford insurance on three cars.
BUT WE CAN SOMEHOW KEEP IN THAT FUCKING DIET COKE. YEAH!

Let's see, I also pissed off my mom. I asked for some serious help with a horrible situation and her response was, 'You're afraid of everything' and asked if I'd like to go to the hospital.
When you are dealing with someone in your household you are reasonably afraid of why should you be the one sent to the hospital and not this other party? Where the hell is the fucking logic in that?

My boyfriend ain't kidding when he says I need to get the hell out of here. I'm going batshit insane, and it's no surprise why. But, hey, this isn't me saying I want to go to the hospital. Okay? We're making that clear in writing.

God fucking damn it. Y'know? Life just wants to come apart at the seams.

Okay, now that THAT is done... Yesterday! I think somebody hit a power pole because our power went out in the middle of the night for four hours. It gets coooold when that happens, haha. But I was just about to submit a new chapter to ReDreamt when it happened!

Anyway, today is exceedingly quiet. Grampa is off bringing his Mom to an appointment and I'm recovering from getting my wart frozen violently with the cold breath of cryosurgical HELL. Actually, this time, I'm not hurting so bad, but I'm still going to keep quiet.

I have just affiliated with my favorite shopping site, English DLsite.com! Normally I'm not one to give into advertisements, but this site is just fantastic. While, honestly, 90% of it's content is for us mature folks, it has fantastic products you won't find anywhere else.

I just had yet another treatment on a very, very mean Plantar Wart on my foot... this is my... fifth visit? Good god, why won't it just DIE?!? I also, thank you snugglebunny, was able to replace my MP3 / Tape Deck Converter with a radio version. My radio was quite comically vomiting out the cassette and simply does not like it no damn more.

Though I went to visit my old high school, ARTECH today. I sat in on class and felt important, and got to hook up with my old peeps and the teachers. Fantastic, everyone there, is indeed. Speak like Yoda, I do. BTW, Hi, Dom! :D

Hurray, my webhost approved my website and so it is viewable by the public.
Not all of the content is finished, but the majority is. I have just a few pages to work on for the basic outline, then I plan on working on my special pages.

All of the Chrono Series links I have are up and running now as well, which is good news for my forum friends.

IN A BIT OF LUCK...
I found a bunch of my old art again from DevArt. The page finally banned me for my art and various reasons and I assumed all my art was taken down subsequently. Well, I was way too hopeful...

Eventually the goal of this page is to have an easy to update center for all of my work and research into things. For now expect the basic... future plans include some sort of Seiken Densetsu section, devoted mostly to Legend of Mana AKA my favorite game in existance.

Right now, of note, this page hosts permanent backups of my posts over at the Chrono Compendium Forums. This will be updated in line with important forum posts so you can access it no matter what the heck happens.
